the only certainty in life…

It’s that time of the year again, where billions of people start to file their tax returns, and while mine is not complicated to finish it just takes some time to gather all of the information from work, student loans and colleges.

Luckily this year I am getting a hefty refund mostly because I still goto school and my program is expensive. My refund is just over $3,900. All of that will go to pay off my Discover, Express, Jcrew and AnF credit cards. Which will take my total for the year above the goal of $5,000.

With my calculations I’ve determined that I can pay close to $9,000 off of my credit cards this year. I’m just very happy with the progress that I’ve made this early on, and the challenge will be not to charge on them after they are paid off.

However, if I continue to get offers in the mail for balance transfers. I will start to play the credit card surfing game to lower my interest rates. Citi keeps sending me 2.9% BT offers and while it is appealing, it’s not something I want to do just yet.

Anyways, that’s my taxes update….
