eye care

In the past I’ve tried to hit up stylish short north (IE gay friendly) optomotrsists for my vision needs. After my last experience of my glasses waiting to go through customs for what seemed to be months I decided to just visit my old optomotrist and visit lenscrafters. I went in for my eye exam and contact fitting, plus I wanted to check out a new pair of glasses.

Long story short, I ended up purchasing a six month supply of contacts and a new pair of versace glasses. All in all I paid out around 300 dollars.

{Now, I know what you’re thinking… digitalshawn, didn’t you say no frivilious spending? Well it’s true I did. Last year when it was time to enroll in benefits I decided to open up a FSA (Flexible Spending Account). I am able to use pre-tax dollars on health related items (prescriptions, glasses, contacts, etc). }

With the use of my FSA I actually spent less money this year on glasses and contacts than I did last year on one single pair of glasses.

Of course keeping with the digitalshawn is cursed when it comes to glasses theme, I didn’t get my glasses in about an hour. They acutally had to order the lenses in and will take seven to ten days. The upside is that the frame is already there sitting anxiously awaiting my lenses.

Anywho for those who are interested, the pic of the glasses I am getting is below.
